What is Luna Insight?
Luna Insight is the software that powers the University of Colorado Digital Library. Insight software stores, manages, and displays digital collections of images, audio, video, and QuickTime VR. Students, faculty and staff can use Insight to find digital media and incorporate it into classroom presentations and study guides.

What is the difference between the Luna Insight Web Browser and JVA client?
The digital collections can be accessed through a web browser or the Luna Insight JVA client. A web browser provides all the basic functionality: searching, viewing or listening, data about the digital object, basic image manipulation tools, and printing. The Luna Insight JVA client is software that offers additional tools such as exporting digital objects, creating presentations and web pages. The following table describes the differences between the Luna Insight Web Browser and JVA client in more detail:

Is the Luna Insight JVA Client available for download?

The Luna Insight JVA client is available on University Libraries public computers and the Boulder campus ITS Computing labs.

Do I need a password to access the collections?
Collections that are listed as OPEN ACCESS do not require a password. Copyright restrictions require that some collections are limited to the University of Colorado. For password access to these collections, please open the collection and follow the instructions.

Some collections may require authentication.  Collection managers are working with IT professionals to implement authentication methods appropriate for each campus.  In the meantime, please contact the corresponding collection manager for login information
