Access & Security - Obtaining Access

Process Overview

To obtain a logon:

Print the Forms

If you have trouble printing the forms, request them via email from UMS Access or campus mail (Campus Box 50), or call (303) 492-9474 or send a fax to (303) 492-9119.

A separate copy of the form is required for each system to which you desire access.

Follow instructions:

Detailed instructions are provided with each request form. If you leave information out, your request will be delayed.

  • Identify the person who can approve your request for access to each system. The authorities are contained on this list.
  • You may photocopy the form for each authority, however, your and your supervisor's signatures may not be copied; signatures must be original and ust be written in ink!
  • Mail the completed form to the appropriate authority for each system requested.

Your request will be evaluated by the appropriate authority. If approved it will be signed and mailed or faxed to the UMS Security Operator.

  • Requests are processed twice daily at 7:30am and 12:30pm.
  • UMS will contact the supervisor and/or new user by email when the logon is ready to be used.
  • Ask your supervisor for help the first time you use your logon.

Highlights of the initial logon process:

  • You will need to establish a connection to the UMS mainframe. You may have to request help from your local technical support group to accomplish this.
  • You will need to call the UMS Help Line at 303.492.9457 (choose option 1) to establish your initial password. You will then need to create a secure password and maintain it correctly.
  • If you have problems with your access, please email UMS Access with your concerns.
